Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with business requirements and continuously improve Diamond’s product quality and system processes performance.
  • Validate the manufacturing process, the product and control plans (routers, FAI, assembly data sheets, etc.), to the most current and industry specifications.
  • Verification of the final product quality and build documentation.
  • Preparation and approval of documents involved in the certification and release of products for delivery to customers.
  • Initiate, investigate, and participate in corrective and preventative action to address product, process, and system non-conformances.
  • Interact with regulatory authorities on production QA issues.
  • Support and/or provide training in the quality system, statistical tools application and special processes applicable fields.
  • Interface with designers and suppliers to obtain necessary data to ensure the products meet the quality requirements.
  • Advise and confer with engineers in the design process to ensure quality requirements are considered, defined, and planned for.
  • Evaluate and amend sub-processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Plan and carry out internal product, process and supplier Quality Audits and participate in regulatory authority or third-party audits to ensure adherence to and effectiveness of Diamond’s processes.
  • Act as a liaison with suppliers on production issues.
  • Validate the quality clauses applicable to supplier contracts.
  • Review all relevant contract documentation for quality requirements and prepare quality plans as required.
  • Oversee the control of documents and records.
  • Oversee measuring and testing equipment calibration activities.
  • Participate in MRB activity within Diamond.
  • Perform risk assessments.
  • General support for production, in-service issues and marketing including support for new equipment, support for proposals, etc.
  • Provide assistance to the Manager on projects planning, budget etc.
  • Perform such other work as requested.

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance pertaining to Aircraft Maintenance or Manufacturing.
  • A bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or in a related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have strong analytical skills, be familiar with statistics, have proven effective technical writing skills.
  • Technical knowledge of standard practices used in aviation.
  • Experience with process/part auditing.
  • Experience with root cause analysis.
  • Proficient at interpreting drawings, work instructions, processes, and requirements.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Must have excellent judgement, be confident in decisions and act with integrity to ensure a safe and reliable product.

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with composite manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with avionics standard practices.
  • Metrology/GD&T experience.
  • Tool Calibration experience.
  • Familiar with FAI processes and their applications.
  • Familiar with AS9100 D clauses and their applicability to internal and vendor processes.
  • CQE certification
  • Experience with metric gathering and reporting using MRP, ERP or MES systems.
  • Experience working with Civil Aviation Authorities.
