Responsibilities

  • Supervise Quality Inspectors as defined in the quality program manual and as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Liaise with Production and other departments to ensure defined activities are managed; proper staff assignments; proactive efforts are made to deal with any issues.
  • Provide guidance and direction to quality inspectors.
  • Track and document issues through company non-conformance process.
  • Ensure the right resources are deployed to meet projected workload for quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Utilize problem solving, corrective action and continuous improvement tools to ensure best practices are being developed and implemented within our quality management system via product and process assurance, and progressive certification of Aircraft Build within our manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure that all team members understand their role and performance in achieving Quality targets.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in related aviation field, or 7–10 years equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance functions and/or Quality Control functions.
  • Understanding of basic aviation design.
  • Understanding of aeronautical regulations and guidance material (TCCA, FAA, EASA).
  • Familiar with aerospace products and processes.
  • Proficient in PC use; including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Microsoft Navision.
  • Strives to achieve a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive written procedures and reports.
  • Proactive thinker and creative.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be a team player and a person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility & good judgment.
  • Must be highly adaptable to effectively deal with changes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Beneficial Experience

  • Experience in working with Aviation Regulations and guidance material.
  • Experience with aircraft manufacturing methods.
  • Experience working with Transport Canada, FAA, and EASA.
  • AME License, A&P Certificate, or delegation from an aviation authority.
