CD-300 Training, Down Under

Fantastic initiative in November from our fantastic distributor “Down Under”: With the first DA50 RG arriving in Australia early next year, Utility Air Pty Ltd organised Continental to train the service centre network on the CD300 engine.

The five-day event, which included full factory training, took place in Melbourne, with 16 participants (14 service centres and two new owners with aircraft on order) flying in from all over the APAC region. Utility Air invited attendees for a dinner and provided hospitality throughout, describing the mood as “very upbeat”.

Operating from corporate headquarters in Sydney, Australia, Utility Air provides unparalleled turn-key aviation solutions throughout APAC, including aircraft brokerage, sales, parts, and acquisitions for both new and pre-owned aircraft. Utility Air is the exclusive distributor for both Diamond Aircraft and parts.

To give you some context, there are currently 138 Diamond aircraft operating across Australia and New Zealand. The first DA50RG is delivering in February 2025 and, because Utility Air provides parts to the entire service network in the region, they see a need to have the DA50 RG fully supported before the first one arrives. Hence the Continental training, with a view to familiarising service centres on the product and having a seamless introduction into service.

The new DA50 RG will be on display at the Avalon Airshow (March 25-30, 2025) for those who like to catch a first-hand glimpse.

Many thanks to Utility Air for holding the workshop and sharing the story, and a special shoutout to Continental’s Steve Bennett, who helped Utility Air facilitate the event.
