Our event journey commenced at INTERGEO 2023 in Berlin, Germany, where our Special Mission Aircraft Division took on the role of co-exhibitor at the stand of our partner SOMAG from 10th to 12th of October. With almost 17,000 trade visitors from 112 nations, 571 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, over 300 speakers and 841 conference participants from 42 countries, INTERGEO EXPO and CONFERENCE once again proved its position in Berlin: INTERGEO is the world's leading trade fair and most important international congress platform for all aspects of geodesy, geoinformation and land management. For Diamond the event provided an ideal platform to showcase our DA62 SurveyStar and interact with industry professionals as well as potential customers. Especially meeting our customers RIEGL and GeoFly was a blast.
We continued with the 2ndAfrica Airforce Forum held in Dakar, Senegal from 25 to 26 October. The forum is a great meeting point for the industry and African decisionmakers from various Air Forces and institutions. Here, our Special Mission Aircraft Division made a significant milestone by showcasing the DA62 MPP VANGUARD for the first time in Africa. This move marked an important step in expanding their reach and demonstrating the capabilities of this new airborne environmental surveillance solution for the region.
Our event journey then led us to the Indo Pacific event in Sydney, Australia, taking place from November 7th to 9th, where again the DA62 MPP VANGUARD was fervently pushed by our Special Mission Aircraft Division team. The focus was particularly on advocating its utilization for fire fighting to highlight the turnkey solution’s affordability and efficacy for this kind of mission. The DA62 MPP VANGUARD’s unique configuration is targeted at customers who have a requirement for affordable airborne environmental surveillance solution with low operating costs that can be flexibly used for various missions. Perfectly suited for applications such as automated fire mapping, vegetation analyses, flood mapping, wildlife monitoring, oil spill mapping, 3D modeling and many other missions, like border security or search and rescue.
Also in early November, we participated in the European Airline Training Symposium (EATS) held in Lisbon, Portugal, from the 8th to 9th. EATS stands at the pinnacle of aviation training excellence, a prestigious gathering of industry leaders, subject matter experts, and passionate aviation professionals from across Europe and beyond. 2023 over 1000 delegates, exhibitors, speakers and sponsors joined. One of the spotlights definitely was on our Flight Simulator demonstrator (a slimmed-down version specifically for event purposes), marking its inaugural showcase at this event. This was a great opportunity for industry experts and potential customers to witness our simulator’s capabilities firsthand. Additionally we could celebrate sales deals with Skywings Flight Training for four new DA40 NG and with AYJET Flight School for one Diamond Aircraft DA42 FNPT II flight simulator.
The journey reached its pinnacle at the prestigious Dubai Airshow, held in the UAE from November 13th to 17th. Dubai Airshow is one of the largest and most successful air shows in the world, connecting aerospace professionals across all areas of the industry to facilitate successful global trade. The 18th edition featured more than 1,400 exhibitors from over 95 countries, 350+ international leading speakers, 80+ start-ups and 20 country pavilions who, collectively, re-defined the future of the industry along with 190+ aircraft on static and flying display. At this year’s Dubai Airshow we were very excited to showcase our marvelous DA50 RG for the first time at this event and in this region and also commemorating the handover of the a DA50 RG to the very first customer in the Middle East region. This event signified our dedication to expanding our market presence and establishing strong footholds in key regions with this aircraft. Moreover we specifically enjoyed being placed next to Emirate’s DA42-VI training aircraft, which were a sparkling highlight on Dubai Airshow’s static display.
From 27th to 28th September our Special Mission Aircraft Division organized Special Mission Open Days. The event was curated to highlight the vast and diverse product portfolio, from the latest eDA40 and DART program to the impressive DA62 MPP (Multi Purpose Platform). Targeted at military attaches, Austrian chamber of commerce representatives, and industrial partners, this event aimed to strengthen collaborative ties and showcase our expertise. One of the highlights definitely were the daily live demonstration flights. An airborne DA62 MPP sent live video and meta data to our ground station and main stage, showing the capabilities of its airborne mission equipment. Additionally impressive performance flights of the DART-750 and the DA62 MPP in formation were displayed. Well over 100 guests and partners from 25 different countries received firsthand information from a variety of different business fields.
Shortly after, from October 4th to 6th, we hosted our Global Diamond Dealer Days, attracting our sales partners from across the globe. This gathering served as a platform for knowledge exchange, information sharing, networking as well as providing a deeper understanding of Diamond products. The event also featured insightful lectures from our partners for computer based flight training Evionica and the recently established customer platform Diamond Pilots Association (DPA). Building and maintaining strong partnerships with our sales partners is crucial for our customers and our joint success and this event provides a unique platform to connect on a personal level. Therefore, we are very happy that we could host 35 sales partner participants from 20 different partner companies and 19 different countries.
Not forgetting our hometown, we also participated in the Wiener Neustadt City Festival from September 8th to 9th, celebrating local businesses and strengthen our brand awareness within the local community. On the first day, visitors could enjoy an exciting formation flight of our DA50 RG, DA62 and DA42-VI. The following day, we had a stand in the city center where Diamond Aircraft and Austro Engine colleagues informed interested parties about our company and our products. As the largest private employer in Wiener Neustadt, we are always happy to get involved in local events.
In summary, we can say that our participation in all these events, whether big or small, well-known or less well-known, was a pleasure for all of us. Whether meeting industry experts, customers, aviation enthusiasts or engaging with our local community, it all is part of our passion and dedication for flying. Looking forward to meeting you at many, many more events 2024!
