In record breaking manner, Bangkok Aviation Center (biggest private owned commercial flying school in Thailand) has flown 1000 hours in less than six month on their Diamond DA42 Twin Star. Bangkok Aviation Center ("BAC") is located at old Bangkok International Airport.
In November 2006, BAC started professional pilot training with their brand new Diamond DA42 Twin Star. On 3rd week of April 2007, the aircraft has completed 1000 flying hours. Asian Aerospace Services Ltd., (Regional Diamond Sales & Services center) is providing full maintenance service & logistics for the DA42 Twin Star of the flying school.
Chief Flight Instructor Capt. Vachirakorn and his team of 22 professional Flight Instructors have absolutely been convinced about the performance and flight characteristics of the New Generation Aircraft, by reaching 1000 flying hours in less than 6 month, the DA42 Twin Star could set another milestone towards reliability and safety. The modern composite aircraft, with its state-of-the art German engineered Centurion 1.7 Jet-A1/Diesel engine could easily meet the initial target of 1200 flying hours/year set by the flying school. In the meantime, the flying school and AAS engineers are aiming a new challenge of 2000 hours/year. Currently the aircraft is scheduled for the 1200 hour check.
The flying school is also operating three single engines with the centurion 1.7. The aircraft are flying 130 hours per month each and two of them did pass the 1300h check.
