In 2005 the twin-engine DA42 was qualified for training of professional pilots (CPL) by the Deutsche Luftfahrt Bundesamt. In the multi engine piston class the aircraft now has been declared suitable for the “Multi Engine Piston Class Rating” by the EASA Operational Evaluation Board.
The DA42 is now the first aircraft in its class not only listed in the general class “Table 10” but in “Table 1” of the “Class and Type Ratings List and Licence Endorsement List (Aeroplanes)” of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
