“We are very proud of these latest milestones for our DA50 RG,” says Liqun (Frank) Zhang, CEO of Diamond Aircraft Austria. “Another long-distance flight that highlights the reliability, safety and performance of this remarkable aircraft. We have been looking forward to presenting the DA50 RG at China AirShow for the first time and expect that the aircraft will spark lots of interest at the display.”
The aircraft was ferried in a joint effort with pilots from Diamond Aircraft Austria and Wanfeng Diamond Aircraft China. Martin Richter-Trummer, Inspection Group Leader and David Bausek, Head of Production, both from Diamond Aircraft Austria, flew the DA50 RG from Wr. Neustadt, Austria to Guangzhou, China, where Wang Ping, Production Test Pilot, Wanfeng Diamond Aircraft China, took over and flew to the destination Zhuhai airport.
“The DA50 is the ultimate travel aircraft. The handling in any flight segment is so easy while delivering great comfort and space. Relaxed arrival at your journey destination is guaranteed,” says David Bausek, who initially was the leading design engineer for the DA50 program. “Originally the DA50 was developed with a fixed gear, but the decision to switch to retractable gear was the right one. In combination with superb aerodynamic design, supported by cowl flaps for optimized performance, you and your passengers travel fast and safe - wherever you want to go, whenever you want to go.”
Martin Richter-Trummer: “Throughout the journey, the DA50 RG was an absolute pleasure to fly. The aircraft is a perfect blend of safety, economy and comfort.”
Wanfeng Diamond Aircraft China is exhibiting in hall 5 at booth number H5C1. The brand-new DA50 RG with its special demonstrator livery together with the DA62, DA42, DA40 and DA20 are on exhibition on the static display as well as the Multi-engine Hybrid Electric Aircraft project in the hall.
